Official! Nagy was best WTCR wildcard of 2018

Six wildcards were on the entry when the inaugural WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO was decided during an epic season showdown in Macau last month.

But while Kevin Tse was the pick of the bunch on the Circuito da Guia, Dániel Nagy was the best wildcard of all season.

Piloting a Hyundai i30 N TCR for the Hungarian M1RA team, 20-year-old Nagy placed second in Race 2 at WTCR Race of Hungary in April, the highest finishing result recorded by any of the 16 wildcards of 2018.

Despite being saddled with an extra 60 kilograms under the WTCR OSCARO regulations, Nagy pursued Rob Huff Huff throughout the 12-lap counter, eventually finishing a little more than half a second behind the Briton at his home track.
