F1 British GP: ‘A pity’ but Rosberg unconcerned by FP2 miss

Nico Rosberg doesn't expect missing second free practice for the British Grand Prix to significantly harm his chances against Lewis Hamilton in their increasingly tight title battle.

A water leak on the German's Mercedes W07 consigned Rosberg to the sidelines for FP2, with Hamilton going quickest as the manufacturer exerted a substantial advantage over the competition at Silverstone during Friday practice.

Despite the fine margins between himself and his main rival, Rosberg says he isn't concerned to lose out on track time and expects to be back up to speed in FP3.

"Of course, this was a pity not to get out," he said. "I lost some track time there, which makes things a bit difficult but I really felt good in the morning in the car so I'm not too worried. It will be ok."

Despite friction with his team-mate, Rosberg says he will be utilising Hamilton's data to bring him up to speed.

"I will try and do the homework and listen to what Lewis is doing, watching his data and all of that, trying to learn a few bits and pieces that I can then take on for my car so I was not far off this morning in terms of balance."
