ERC Juniors receive tyre training from Pirelli

The eight registered crews competing in ERC Junior on the Circuit of Ireland received some valuable tyre training tips before the start of the FIA European Rally Championship event from Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli's rally activity manager.

All the ERC Junior crews run on Pirelli control tyres, and part of the Junior programme includes regular training sessions throughout the year, focussing on a number of different aspects of race craft - including of course, tyres.

"There are a number of different things to know about how to get the best from the tyres, and I was delighted to be able to pass on some of my experience to the Junior drivers," said Testoni. "At Pirelli, part of our key philosophy is to help create opportunities for the champions of the future, so the ERC Junior programme is very important."

The drivers were introduced to the entire Pirelli range of tyres and their characteristics. Just 12 tyres are allowed for the whole rally under ERC Junior regulations, so it's important for the drivers to get the best out of them.
