ERC Junior Tannert grateful for home support

ERC Junior competitor Julius Tannert enjoyed the local support he got on his participation on a German rally last weekend, even though his event ended prematurely.

Opel factory driver Tannert had to concede a class victory on the Sachsen Rallye to his team-mate Chris Ingram when the suspension on his Adam R2 was broken by a concealed rock on the inside of a corner.

Nonetheless, Tannert was pleased to return to his home rally, where he made his debut in the sport in 2012: "It was great to start at home. The many fans on the stages and the high interest in our sport make us proud. I am also very grateful for the visit from my partners and supporters on Friday night.

"I am pleased that we were able to show our speed. We felt very comfortable in the car. The failure is of course extremely annoying and I would like to have claimed this victory for our team. Now we are preparing meticulously for the Azores and want to give everything to get a good result there."
