ERC champion Kajetanowicz to make WRC debut
Reigning FIA European rally champion Kajetan Kajetanowivz will make his World Rally Championship debut on his home Rally Poland from 30 June to 3 July.
The Pole will drive a Ford Fiesta R5 as usual: in fact the very same car that he took to victory on the 2013 Rally Poland (pictured), which was then a round of the ERC, also contested by Robert Kubica.
Having yet to win on the ERC so far this year, Kajetanowicz is now hoping to make his mark on the WRC2 series.
"Although I have over 100 rallies under my belt, I feel a bit nervous about this one," he said. "This year the most important goal for me is to defend the European title and our schedule is stretched to the maximum. But we can always find time for our home crowd."
Kajetanowicz currently leads the ERC standings heading into the next round in two weeks' time: the Azores Airlines Rallye.
