Busy year for new WTCR recruit Priaulx

New Lynk & Co Cyan Racing signing Andy Priaulx is set for a busy 2019 with a three-event FIA World Endurance Championship campaign also part of his schedule.

Priaulx, the three-time World Touring Car champion, is the latest star name to join the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO. The Briton will drive a Geely Group Motorsport-developed Lynk & Co 03 TCR.

“I have happy memories of the days when this series was the WTCC and I won my three titles,” said Priaulx. “I want to thank Larry Holt from Multimatic for allowing me to compete in the WTCR along with my commitments in the WEC.”

Priaulx is not the only WTCR OSCARO racer with commitments in endurance racing in 2019: Hyundai Motorsport customer team drivers Nicky Catsburg and Augusto Farfus will drive for BMW in the WEC, plus other other international GT races.

“Our goal for WEC is to continue the upward trend and to get our first win soon,” said Farfus, who lifted the FIA GT World Cup in Macau last month.

WTCR OSCARO season two begins at WTCR Race of Morocco in Marrakech from 5-7 April.
