Aston Martin Works showcases its skills in Dubai

19 November 2013, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire: World-renowned heritage and restoration experts Aston Martin Works brought some classic appeal to the recent Dubai International Motor Show courtesy of a stunning DB6 displayed on the Aston Martin stand.

The luxury British sports car maker created a confident and glamorous presence in the United Arab Emirates at an event acknowledged as the largest, most established and highest-profile motor show in the Middle East.

Alongside its new cars - which included the regional show debuts of Aston Martin's ultimate convertible, the new Vanquish Volante, and extreme, 205 mph, V12 Vantage S - the brand took the opportunity in this, its centenary year, to celebrate its glorious heritage by displaying the DB6 lovingly restored over a period of two years by the craftsmen and women at Aston Martin Works.

The historic car - one of fewer than 2,000 DB6 models produced at Newport Pagnell between 1965 and 1971 - went through a painstaking 24-month restoration at the historic home of the great British sports car brand before its public debut in Dubai earlier this month.

Dozens of world class, time-served craftsmen and women worked on the car - as they do with all restoration projects at Aston Martin Works - undertaking scores of meticulous processes to return the DB6 to the ‘as new' condition seen at its public debut in the Middle East.

Managing Director of Aston Martin Works, Kingsley Riding-Felce, was at the show in the UAE to help would-be buyers of the car, as well as enthusiasts of the brand, understand more about its history and unique appeal.

He said: "The reaction we received in Dubai was amazing. The interest in the DB6 in this, Aston Martin's centenary year, was a real testament to the enduring power of this amazing sports car company.

He added: "I was overwhelmed with enquiries about both the car on the stand and our sports car restoration and personalisation services, as we continue to build Aston Martin Works' reputation as a global centre of heritage restoration and excellence."
