Radi-CALTM comes of age
This revolution in brake technology began in 2007 with AP Racing's patented Radi-CALTM caliper, and continues into 2014 with the evolution of the concept.

This year AP Racing equipped cars using Radi-CALTM technology won the Nascar Sprint Cup Series, as well as the Nationwide Series. AP Racing also supplied conventional braking equipment to the winner of the 2013 Craftsman Truck championship series. The AP Racing booth will also feature four-and-six-piston, forged monobloc endurance spec Radi-CALTM designs suitable for GT/USCR cars with either carbon or iron discs.

Other motorsport series are catered for at the show, with the four-piston forged Radi-CALTM caliper and disc for the WRC on display, along with the six-piston liquid-cooled monobloc caliper and disc for other rally raid type applications.

In addition, the new World Radi-CALTM four and six piston calipers and discs for aftermarket road cars will be on display, as well as the Bugatti Veyron brake caliper and discs designed to stop the latest generation of the iconic supercar.

Formula One
The first car with AP Racing brakes to win a Grand Prix was a Ferrari 312B driven by Mario Andretti in the 1971 South African GP. For the 2013 F1 season AP Racing supplied nine different designs of caliper, and this year's F1 caliper and disc technology will be on display.

Braking news
AP Racing has further developed and updated its popular CP5500 Floor Mounted Pedal Box range. Important features such as adjustable travel stops on the throttle and clutch pedals, as well as ball bearing pivots, have been retained but, in addition, the updated pedal box is now available a new contactless rotary sensor with dual input/output for redundancy, as well as a stronger throttle return spring.

The new Radi-CALTM R4 brake fluid, with the highest dry boiling point of any racing brake fluid currently available is at PMI. With outstanding resistance to vapour lock and pedal fade, the new R4 fluid has a boiling point of 340°C (644°F), ensuring that it's suitable for the most demanding applications.

The Sinusoidal Vane (S-Vane) cast iron discs for Nascar Car, GT and Rally Car applications will be on show. Running between 70-100°C cooler than the old design, the new S Vane disc provides a significant improvement in brake performance, wear rate and reliability.

Clutch of victories
AP Racing supplied the majority of clutches to the 2013 Formula 1 grid, and has been one of the sports leading suppliers since 1968. The 2013 championship winning Ø97mm carbon clutch will be at the show along with a selection of carbon clutches for Rally, GT and single seater applications.

Also on display at PRI will be AP Racing's Ø140mm and Ø184mm ‘I' Drive Clutch Types, these feature drive tenons which locate internal jaws in the lightweight aluminium clutch cover, eradicating the onset of clutch drag. Conventional clutch designs typically feature external ‘jaws' around the outer edges of the steel intermediate and main pressure plates, which can distort trapping the legs of the aluminium cover and cause the clutch to drag.

AP Racing's products are available from distributors across the USA - B.R.I.T.S. Inc. based in Sonoma, California; and Essex Parts Services Inc. based in Cramerton, North Carolina - while product information and technical guidance are available direct from AP Racing.
