WTCR racer Guerrieri reveals wet tyre gamble

Esteban Guerrieri said he had nothing to lose by switching to wet-weather Yokohama tyres for the restarted Race 3 at WTCR Race of Hungary - but admitted afterwards that it was the wrong call.

Guerrieri's hopes of a Race 3 podium were ruined by a drive-through penalty for a jumped start.

Out of contention for a top finish and with the race suspended due to rain, Guerrieri called for wet tyres to be fitted to his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR.

"I made a false start and got a penalty for it, which killed my race," said the Argentine, who completed and ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport 1-2 in Race 1 on Saturday. "During the red flag, I rolled the dice and put on wet tyres, which was totally the wrong decision and I wasn't able to make any more progress from the back."
