WTCR entrant Comtoyou shines on ice
Comtoyou Racing, one of eight teams to win in the inaugural WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO, had more reason to celebrate when the Trophée Andros ice-racing series stopped off at the Isola 2000 resort in France from 11-12 January.
Olivier Panis, father of the team’s 2018 racer Aurélien, took an Elite Pro category win and a second place to finish the event with the most points of all, which has boosted his title prospects considerably. Meanwhile, Nathanaël Berthon made it two Comtoyou drivers on the second race podium in third position.
In the overall Elite Pro standings, Aurélien Panis of the Saintéloc Racing team, slips to second, five points behind new leader Jean-Baptiste Duborg by five points. Comtoyou is 22 points behind Saintéloc in the teams’ ranking.
Aurélien Comte, a race winner in WTCR / OSCARO in 2018, finished P12 in both races.
Serre Chevalier is up next on the schedule from 19-20 January.
