WRC legends return at Wales Rally GB

Historic WRC cars like the Lancia Stratos, Audi Quattro and Subaru Impreza will roar back into action at Dayinsure Wales Rally GB [26 - 29 october].

The cars will star in displays and demo runs at the Cholmondeley Castle RallyFest stage, which forms part of Saturday's WRC itinerary.

RallyFest is one of the 21 stages that make up the four-day rally. It is run on the Castle's parkland roads, rather than deep in the Welsh forests which host the majority of tests.

As part of the build up before the WRC competitors drive the stage in the afternoon, more than 40 cars representing the Group A, Group B and the first World Rally Car models that appeared 20 years ago, will be in the spotlight.

"Everyone loves historic rally cars, and it was no surprise that they proved to be hugely popular with the thousands coming to Cholmondeley last year," said the rally's managing director, Ben Taylor.

"We are now serving up an even more comprehensive collection as part of what will be a much enhanced RallyFest."
