Wraps come off BRC WTCR Hyundai during live launch

The wraps have come off BRC Racing Team's Hyundai i30 N TCR racer during an online launch at the squad's Cherasco base this morning.

Drivers Norbert Michelisz and Gabriele Tarquini were given the honour of unveiling the striking colours that will be carried by BRC during the inaugural WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.

Prior to the unveiling, Hungarian Michelisz explained why he's chosen to be Hyundai-powered in 2018. "At the end of last year you could see that the i30 N TCR is the car to beat and the combination of the BRC Racing Team and the i30 was almost unbeatable. As a racing car driver you always want to win, you want to have the best equipment and I am quite sure that this combination will enable us to fight for race wins, maybe even the championship as well."

Italian Tarquini, who conducted the bulk of the i30 N TCR testing, said: "For me it's very nice to be involved in a full season again. Last year I enjoyed very much to be involved in developing and with BRC and Hyundai we made a really good job. So for me it's a really good opportunity to be back racing."

WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO season one gets underway in Marrakech, Morocco from 7-8 April.
