Why Coronel’s inside line paid off in WTCR

Tom Coronel bagged a points double at WTCR Race of Slovakia - thanks in part to him picking the right line to avoid the multi-car accident in Race 3.

Coronel made it through with his Boutsen Ginion Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR intact before going on to finish in eighth place having taken seventh in Race 1.

"I think [Sunday's] result was a little lucky because I chose the inside line when I saw the big accident on the first lap, and that helped me gain a lot of places," said Dutchman Coronel. "We have genuinely made a step forward this weekend compared to what we've done in the past few rounds and that gives me optimism for the Asian events."

The results of Race 2 and Race 3 remain subject to the outcome of an ongoing appeal process.
