Stunning Jaguar collection hits the 'Marque'
Silverstone Auctions has five outstanding classic Jaguar models to date - ranging from the 1950's to the 1970's - for its Race Retro & Classic Car Sale at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
They will line-up alongside other classic road-going models, as well as a number of race and rally cars at the auction on 23rd February, which is one of the highlights of the Race Retro weekend.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: "For the Race Retro & Classic Car Sale we've put together an impressive collection of Jaguars. The auction is a wonderful opportunity for any serious Jaguar collector or enthusiast to acquire their next dream car.
"Indeed, the Jaguars we've offered at previous auctions have always performed well, especially at last year's Race Retro when we successfully sold five models, including a stunning 1958 Tojeiro Jaguar for £286,000."
The oldest of the Jaguars at this year's sale is a 1950 XK120 Roadster, estimated at between £45,000 to £52,000, with one family ownership for 50 years. Presented as a highly collectable classic, it is a UK right hand drive car which retains the original engine and gearbox.
From 1956 is a XK140 Fixedhead Coupe SE, estimated at between £58,000 to £65,000, that is ready for competition. Known as ‘The Vicar's Car' after it was raced by Reverend John Fellingham in the 1970s, it is a great chance to acquire a period car that is suitable to compete in many events.
Just two years younger is a beautiful 1958 XK150 Drophead Coupe, estimated at between £55,000 to £65,000, and presented in Signal Red with cream leather interior and red carpets.
A no-expense spared, concours standard 1960 Mk II 3.8 Auto, estimated at £60,000 to £70,000, comes complete with a series of upgrades including a modern automatic ZF gearbox, power steering, electronic ignition, electric radiator cooling fan, uprated brakes, air conditioning, plus front and rear parking sensors. It even has a modern hidden stereo system with I-Pod connection and other extras.
Moving forward a decade and from 1974 is an extremely rare, with two owners from new, XJ12L Series II, estimated at between £18,000 to £22,000. It shows just 7,600 recorded miles.
