Østberg hopes to return to ERC and Rally Islas Canarias

Visiting WRC star Mads Østberg is hoping to return to the Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés to complete some unfinished business on the FIA European Rally Championship, after crashing out of the event lead at the end of the first full day.

Østberg, who currently lies second in the World Rally Championship standings, has a special affinity with Gran Canaria, having frequently taken holidays on the island and becoming a brand ambassador for the local Anfi timeshare group, which was originally founded by a fellow Norwegian.

"I loved the rally and as I expected the level of competition was very high," said Østberg. "It was a really great experience, so of course I would like to come back. The Canary Islands are a very special place for me, and I feel so proud to be Anfi brand ambassador. I've been to Gran Canaria many times: it's just the perfect place to come for holidays - or rallying!"
