Stand-in navigates a route to the ERC for Greek favourite

Lambros Athanassoulas will compete on his home round of the FIA European Rally Championship again this week after finding a replacement co-driver in time for the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally.

Athanassoulas finished third on the event last year, but revealed that his participation in the 2016 edition had been in doubt just weeks before the start due to clashing family commitments of his regular navigator Nikolaos Zakheos.

Elias Panagiotounis has stepped in to the co-driver's seat of the Lascaris Foundation Team Greece ŠKODA Fabia R5 to ensure Athanassoulas can take part. Panagiotounis won the Greek Gravel Cup last year alongside Ioannis Badounas.
