Rosberg impressed by Bottas, praises 'perfect' mentality
2016 Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg is impressed by how replacement Valtteri Bottas has performed at Mercedes so far this season, praising the Finn's mentality and ability to concentrate on his own displays.
Bottas replaced Rosberg at Mercedes for 2017 when the German announced his immediate retirement from F1 just five days after winning his maiden title.
Bottas has scored two race wins and six further podium finishes through the first half of the season with Mercedes, and is just 19 points behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the drivers' championship.
Speaking to Sport Bild in Germany, Rosberg said he was impressed by how Bottas has performed so far this season with Mercedes, going as far as saying he was "perfect" in his mental approach.
"I'm really impressed. Mentally, he is perhaps the perfect driver, because he can concentrate on himself," Rosberg said.
"That makes him consistent and fast."
