Remembering when… Brilliant Botka claimed crucial Greek glory

For Dávid Botka, this week's SEAJETS Acropolis Rally will rekindle memories of his best FIA European Rally Championship result to-date.

Botka finished fifth overall on the 2015 running of the event and took the ERC2 class win, putting him into an 18-point lead in the category in the absence of his rival Vojtěch Štajf.

Botka would go on to beat Štajf on the season finale in Valais, securing him the production-class crown.

For 2016, Botka has swapped his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX for a Citroën DS3 R5 to compete for overall honours. After various car troubles on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés and a 12th-place finish on the Circuit of Ireland, the Hungarian will hope to reproduce a fine drive on his return to Greece.
