Radi-CALTM - From race track to road car

AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance braking and clutch systems for road and race use, has created a new range of Radi-CAL^TM brake calipers which incorporate race technology into high-performance road products.

Available as six and four-pot front calipers, as well as a four-pot rear caliper, the new range of Radi-CAL^TM products distil the company's expertise in producing brake systems for race and OEM installations, into calipers suitable for the aftermarket. As a result Radi-CAL^TM delivers an advanced brake upgrade for the owners of high performance and sports cars.

Featuring a two-piece Aluminium body and h-piece, the forged non-symmetrical calipers offer a significant reduction in mass compared to conventional designs, and improved caliper efficiency when resisting the torque generated by braking. This not only lowers a vehicle's un-sprung weight, but also ensures continued high performance in demanding applications.

AP Racing's advanced design process allows the Radi-CAL^TM concept to minimise structure and weight, while improving caliper cooling surface area, without sacrificing rigidity. This provides improved brake caliper cooling and reduces disc temperatures during high performance driving.

Available direct to vehicle manufacturers, these new models are also an ideal upgrade from factory fitted capliers. Popular performance models, including the 2012 Nissan GTR, BMW F10 5 Series, Audi A6 and Range Rover Evoque, are covered from launch, but further models will be continually added to the range.

The Radi-CAL^TM calipers feature a highly durable paint finish featuring the distinctive new Radi-CAL^TM logo, and available separately or with matching performance road car discs and pads for specific customer requests. The Radi-CAL^TM Factory Big Brake kits incorporate floating two-piece disc assemblies, and include bespoke mounting bracket and bolts, a braided hose kit and DOT 5.1 high temperature brake fluid.

The Radi-CAL^TM revolution in brake technology begun in 2007, with AP Racing's patented caliper design, and continues into 2013 with this latest generation of the concept. Taking the expertise and experience from its Formula 1 work, AP Racing has produced some 67 different Radi-CAL^TM caliper designs to date covering all major motorsport classes globally. The company continues to refine the design process, and the development of these new Radi-CAL^TM brake products demonstrates AP Racing's ability to adapt race-derived technology to the road car market.

The new Radi-CAL^TM range will be launched in North America by Stillen at the SEMA show, November 5 to 8, in Las Vegas. They will also be on display at PMWE in Germany later in November the International Autosport show in January 2014.
