Puskádi banks prize fund on ERC return
Hungarian driver János Puskádi was delighted to pick up a cheque for €1000 from Eurosport Events on his return to the FIA European Rally Championship: his reward for finishing in eighth place overall on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles.
A generous prize fund from Eurosport means that there are cash awards for the top seven classified ERC-registered competitors on each round, using tyres from partners Michelin or Pirelli. The prize money ranges from €7000 for the top-placed competitor to €1000 to the seventh-ranked, totalling €200,000 over the course of the season.
Despite not having competed on an ERC event since Corsica in 2014, Puskádi finished in the points on his championship return at the wheel of a ŠKODA Fabia R5: picking up prize money as the icing on the cake.
"It's been fantastic to be back; this is what rallying is all about," said Puskádi. "I've had a brilliant weekend and of course it's nice to receive this prize. Many thanks to everyone."
