Pieniążek and Bostanci evenly matched in ERC3 on Acropolis
Łukasz Pieniążek has picked up where he left off in the ERC3 class to lead on the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally, but is being closely matched by Murat Bostanci.
Pieniążek, the ERC3 and ERC Junior points leader after his triumph on the Circuit of Ireland, opened up a 25-second lead on the first stage in Greece over Bostanci.
Bostanci then beat the young Pole by 0.9s on SS2, before Opel Adam R2 driver Pieniążek won SS3 by 6.6s, leaving the gap between them standing at 30.7s.
Bostanci, driving his Castrol Ford Team Türkiye Fiesta R2T, revealed that he lost his time on SS1 in the dust of Kajetan Kajetanowicz, who had rejoined the stage ahead of him after his roll.
Over two minutes down on the leader, double ERC class champion Zoltán Bessenyey is third in his Renault Clio R3T, half a minute ahead of the similar car of Alex Filip. The Romanian was just four tenths slower than Bessenyey on SS3 on his first rally in the latest-specification of Clio.
