McLaren predstavil MCL34
Na štvrtok si predstavenie nového modelu a jeho osádky naplánoval iba britský tím McLaren.
Len pred pár dňami vyliezli z centrály vo Wokkingu správy, že tím má nového hlavného sponzora v britskej tabakovej spoločnosti BAT (British American Tobacco), ktorá kedysi sponzorovala tím BAR Honda a svojho času aj aktivity Davida Richardsa v MS značiek. Ak je dnes predstavené lakovanie definitívne, tak BAT patrí rozhodne tá modrá farba.
Rovnako tak sme sa pred pár dňami dozvedeli, že nový ohlasovaný šéf Andreas Seidl, ktorého Zak Brown ulovil v Porsche, nastúpi do funkcie v McLarene od 1.mája 2019. Poďme však už k dnešnému predstavovaniu.
Tím McLaren má po dvanástich rokoch úplne novú jazdeckú dvojicu. Odišiel Alonso aj Vandoorne a do tímu tak nastupujú „mladé pušky“ Carlos Sainz junior (24 r.) a Lando Norris (19 r.). Od chlapcov sa neočakávajú zázraky, no všetci veria, že nové auto bude lepšie, ako to vlaňajšie a pokroky urobili aj v Renaulte.
„Tak, ako vždy, aj teraz sa chceme posunúť vpred,“ prehlasuje boss Zak Brown. „Model MCL34 je výsledkom tvrdej práce celého tímu s cieľom urobiť z McLarenu znova konkurencieschopný tím. Máme nových pilotov do ktorých vkladáme svoje nádeje a sme odhodlaní spoločne zo seba vydať všetko, aby sme naplnili nádeje a očakávania našich partnerov a fanúšikov.“
Ešte pred týždňom sa vravelo, že na testy v Barcelone príde aj Fernando Alonso, no podľa posledných informácii sa tak nestane. Tím McLaren vyvenčí teda nový McLaren MCL34 Renault na katalánskych testoch bez Španiela. Začína sa 18.februára.
