Larsen wins on Norwegian gravel in preparation for ERC
Norwegian driver Frank Tore Larsen won a gravel event in his homeland last weekend as his debut in the FIA European Rally Championship approaches.
Larsen and co-driver Torstein Eriksen won the three-stage Hurumsprinten rally - the first event in the Norwegian summer season - by just 0.8 seconds over fellow Ford Fiesta R5 driver Anders Grøndal.
The 25-year-old's ERC plans were affected by the postponement of Rally Liepāja from February to September, but he will contest the Azores Airlines Rallye in June. Before then, he'll compete in Rally Sørland next weekend against recent ERC guest star Mads Østberg.
Larsen wasn't the only ERC driver competing on Hurumsprinten: ERC Junior contender Steve Røkland finished 16th overall and fourth in class driving a Nissan Almera.
