Larsen to compete in ex Marklund Polo
Norway's Kjetil Larsen will race in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar and selected FIA World Rallycross Championship rounds in 2018, driving an ex-Anton Marklund Volkswagen Polo.
Larsen will move from racing in the Euro RX TouringCar category. He competed in an ex-Robin Larsson Skoda Fabia from 2014 in the rear wheel drive class and has also raced Ford Fiestas. He finished sixth in the TouringCar championship last season. "A new car was built for Anton after this crash with Petter Solberg in Canada in 2016. Since it was new, it has only done two races, so everything is new on the car. It's definitely the wildest thing I have ever done. It's a little boys dream come true," said Larsen.
The TouringCar podium finisher will race in the five round Euro RX Supercar Championship this year, held in Barcelona, Belgium, Sweden, France and Latvia, and is also planning to race in his home round of World RX in Hell. "I will try to get an entry to race there, that's the plan, but there must also be some good results too. I won't go there to come last," he said.
