The Kia Sportage has been awarded with the Used Car of the Year Award at the coveted Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards. Impressing the judges with its sales performance in showrooms, strong residual values and positive press reviews, the Sportage came top ahead of very worthy competitors such as the Citroen DS3 and Volkswagen Golf.

For this award Car Dealer Magazine looked firstly into the huge amount of nominations that they had from Car Dealer Magazine readers. The judges then looked at the popularity with trade, residual values from experts, searches on classified websites as well as press reviews, from the UK media

For the Sportage to make the shortlist it first had to gain the most number of votes before being handed over to the judges, this emphasis on the nominations made it more the dealers' used car of the year rather than being based just on the numbers.

Wheeler Dealers presenter and awards host, Mike Brewer said: "The Sportage has impressed ever since the fresh design arrived on the scene. Three years on it is still performing incredibly well in showrooms and this has meant used performances have been equally impressive. Couple in strong residual values and excellent press reviews, our judges really could make no other choice".

The Sportage is Kia's best-selling model in the UK, claiming around a quarter of the brand's total sales. With desirable levels of equipment, stunning appearance and impressive performance figures, teamed with a recent facelift for 2014, the Sportage is an attractive option for many, new or used.
