Haryanto unhappy Manor contract not yet sorted

Rio Haryanto says he's disappointed his contract situation has been dragged out into the summer break as he looks to secure sufficient funding to hold on to his Manor race seat for the remainder of 2016.

At the start of the year the Indonesian driver had signed a full one-year contract to drive for Manor but his funding programme expired after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Under assurances from Haryanto's management Manor gave him dispensation to race at the German Grand Prix a week later but his future in F1 after the summer shutdown is yet to be confirmed.

Haryanto says his management team is working tirelessly to secure additional funding for the remainder of the campaign but he feels frustrated with the lack of progress.

"I am a bit disappointed because it is not easy to still have doubt over what will happen in the future," Haryanto said. "Sometimes you are not always going to have good days and sometimes you have bad days, it is what it is. I believe in my management they are working very hard to secure the seat for me for the whole season.

"My aim was to always finish the whole season and given the support of the fans at home in Indonesia they are have helped me a lot but when it comes to financial I don't think they could have done much there. I will be disappointed if I can't come back."
