Greek star pleased to be back on classic Acropolis stages in ERC
As a Greek native, Lambros Anathassoulas is as well-placed as any FIA European Rally Championship driver to talk about the stages the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally will run on this week.
For the first time in 2005, the legendary gravel rally is based in Lamia and Central Greece. That means a return to some classic tests from years gone by.
Anathassoulas, driving a ŠKODA Fabia R5 on an event he finished third on last year, said: "Actually here in Greece we love the stages. It was I think 2005 that I did my first Acropolis Rally on these stages. They're really fast in some parts, especially Amfissa [SS2/SS5]. We call it now Amfissa but it's well known as Karoutes, one of the great stages.
"You're going to like it for sure tomorrow. It's a really, really nice feeling to be back on these stages. Even though I am from Loutraki, the place here is great and the stages are beautiful so I like them a lot."
