Gravel kilometres key for Pieniążek on ERC’s Acropolis Rally
Up-and-coming FIA European Rally Championship star Łukasz Pieniążek says it's important to do as many kilometres as possible on the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally in order to build on his limited gravel experience.
The Opel Adam R2 driver won the opening round of the ERC Junior season on the Circuit of Ireland and also moved into the ERC3 standings lead. He'll be able to defend that in Greece, and gain gravel experience ahead of the Azores Airlines Rallye.
The Polish youngster has started his weekend well with the quickest time among two-wheel drive cars on the Qualifying Stage, ahead of R3-powered opposition.
He said: "We decided to take part in the Acropolis Rally because we hope to increase our advantage in ERC3. It won't be an easy task though. My experience on the loose road is not too large. I've only started once on a gravel rally, so this very weekend it's very important for me to drive as many kilometres as possible."
