Filip hopes for ERC podium repeat in Greece

Alex Filip starts his 2016 season in the FIA European Rally Championship on this week's SEAJETS Acropolis Rally with hopes of repeating the class podium he scored two years ago.

Back then, he claimed third in the two-wheel drive category on his first ever rally outside of Romania. Having ended 2015 with the ERC3 win in Valais, he's now upgraded to the latest R3T-specification of Renault Clio, a car he recently tested on gravel at home before travelling to Greece.

"It was a very useful test for us and I feel ready for a new challenge in the European Rally Championship," he said. "We start this season with a new car, a new technical team and on a rally with a route that's completely new to us, but I hope to adapt quickly and achieve our goals. Our aim is to finish on the podium in the ERC category."
