F1 Mexican GP: Hamilton, Rosberg shadow Mexico GP tyre picks

F1 title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have selected very similar tyre picks for the Grand Prix of Mexico, while Toro Rosso have opted for the most aggressive tyre strategy on the grid.

Championship leader Rosberg has chosen an even spread on tyre selection for Mexico City with five sets of super-softs along with four softs and four mediums. His Mercedes rival, who will be aiming to claw back into the German's title advantage, has gone one step more aggressive with five super-softs, five softs and only three mediums.

At Ferrari it is a similar story with both drivers going for six super-softs but Kimi Raikkonen has given up a set of mediums for an extra set of softs compared to Sebastian Vettel, while the Red Bull pair of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo have identical selections to Vettel with six super-softs, four softs and three mediums.

With small variations across the F1 grid the Toro Rosso duo of Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz have been the most aggressive with their picks of eight super-softs, three softs and two mediums.

The Grand Prix of Mexico will be run one week after the United Stated Grand Prix on the 28-30 October.
