F1 Brazilian GP: Rosberg remains optimistic ahead of F1 title shot

Nico Rosberg says he's prepared for whatever will challenge him during the Brazilian Grand Prix and refused to be downbeat after missing out on pole position by a slim margin to Lewis Hamilton.

The F1 world championship leader knows a third consecutive victory at Interlagos will secure him a maiden world title but will start the race in Brazil directly behind sole rival Hamilton in second place on the grid.

Rosberg missed out on pole by one-tenth of a second with the pair closely matched throughout the practice sessions, but the German driver is refusing to feel frustrated at missing out on pole position at Interlagos.

"It was very close but Lewis was just marginally quicker in the end and my lap was good in the end but just not quick enough and missing that little bit out there," Rosberg said. "It is okay, as we have seen this year pole position isn't always the one who wins the race so I am still optimistic for the race tomorrow as I want to win.

"I am looking forward and trying to get Lewis into turn one that is the plan. Of course, it is not that easy and the run into turn ne is very short so that doesn't help but I will try everything I can."

With the opening phases of corners frequently throwing up clashes in F1, Rosberg will also be hoping to avoid any mayhem and enjoy a clean race with the knowledge he can finish directly behind Hamilton in the final two rounds and still be crowned world champion.

"I don't think about much to lose tomorrow at the moment, I just look forward to tomorrow's race, whatever comes," he said. "We have a great car in any conditions dry or wet so it will be exciting."
