Evans adds Argentina to WRC 2 title trail

Elfyn Evans has confirmed he will tackle the upcoming Rally Argentina (21-24 april) as his bid to secure this year's WRC 2 title takes shape.

The Welshman heads the WRC 2 standings after wins in Monte Carlo and Sweden and is aiming to complete a hat-trick of wins when the WRC heads to South America next month.

After losing his World Rally Car drive with M-Sport at the end of last season, Evans started 2016 with only two WRC 2 appearances confirmed, but his programme has been extended thanks to impressive results at the wheel of the firm's Ford Fiesta R5 Evo.

"The season got off to a good start but after Monte Carlo and Sweden I had to wait to see what the plan was. Obviously I am very pleased with the decision to send us to Argentina," Evans told wrc.com.

"We're aiming for victory in Argentina, and the goal this year is to win as many rallies as we can. We're going rally-by-rally to see where we go next, so the best way to ensure we turn up on the next event is to win this one!"

Evans has tackled Rally Argentina twice before and finished third last year at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta RS WRC.
