Érdi looks to go the ERC Acropolis distance
Tibor Érdi Jr will hope he can cross the finish line when he takes on the FIA European Rally Championship's SEAJETS Acropolis Rally for the second time this week.
On his previous trip to Greece in 2014, the Hungarian driver led the ERC production class all the way to the end of the final stage, only to be forced to retire on the road section on the way to the finish after suffering broken suspension.
Érdi initially planned to focus on the ERC's asphalt events in a five-round programme for 2016, but following a fifth-place finish in ERC2 on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés, he swapped the Circuit of Ireland for the Acropolis after his co-driver Gergely Patkó indicated he wouldn't be able to continue due to other commitments.
Sitting in the second seat in the Érdi Rallye Team Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X in Greece will be the experienced György Papp, who previously worked with double ERC two-wheel drive champion Zoltán Bessenyey.
