ERC2 leader pays tribute to World Champion
FIA European Rally Championship ERC2 leader Wojciech Chuchala, driving for Subaru Poland, has paid tribute to one of Subaru's greatest world rally champions, by supporting the Richard Burns Foundation.
The Richard Burns Foundation was established in memory of the 2001 World Rally Championship, who died of a brain tumour just over 10 years ago at the age of only 34. It aims to help all those affected by brain illness and injury.
Chuchala's Impreza will carry Richard Burns Foundation stickers for the rest of the season, with the charity being at the forefront of the ERC2 action as the Pole seems set for a second consecutive class win. He is also aiming for another top-10 finish, sitting 12th overall with four stages to go.
One of the spectators on the Circuit of Ireland was Robert Reid, world champion co-driver alongside Burns and a founder of the charity. "It's great to see the RBF have a strong presence on the ERC," he said. "Not only does the foundation do some excellent work, but it also honours Richard's memory within the rallying community."
