ERC2 ace Remennik shines on Russian rally

FIA European Rally Championship regulars Sergei Remennik and Mark Rozin made an instant impact on their debut in a Ford Fiesta Proto, leading last weekend’s Rally Malachite before settling for the runner-up spot by a mere 2.2s.

The Urals-based crew switched from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X they normally campaign in ERC2 to try out the uprated Fiesta from Prospeed Motorsport on the Russian Rally Cup counter.

And they impressed by topping the leaderboard at the end of leg one by 14.6s ahead of Denis Rostilov.

“We seemed to get used to the car, but you won’t try everything and take unnecessary risks during the race,” said Remennik, who received guidance from driver coach and ERC champion Alexey Lukyanuk.
