ERC’s SEAJETS Acropolis Rally returns to Central Greece for 2016
When the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally takes place next month as round three of the 2016 FIA European Rally Championship, it will return to Central Greece after a 10-year absence.
The classic event will be based in Lamia - the capital of the Central Greece region - which last held the rally in 2005, when it was won by Sébastien Loeb. It was based in Loutraki on the banks of the Gulf of Corinth from 2009 until 2015, and has been part of the ERC since 2014.
After being held in October last year, the rally moves back to an earlier date of 6-8 May for 2016. Kajetan Kajetanowicz won the 2015 rally on his way to claiming the ERC title, and currently leads the 2016 standings.
Last year, 27 per cent of the rally was run on asphalt, but the relocation means it will be an all-gravel affair once more. There will be 12 stages, totalling 231.52 kilometres.
Entries close on Wednesday 20 April, and the entry list will be published on Monday 25 April.
