ERC’s Jean-Pierre Nicolas gives thumbs up to stunning Acropolis route

FIA European Rally Championship Sporting Manager Jean-Pierre Nicolas has given his seal of approval to the stunning SEAJETS Acropolis Rally stages, following a full recce of the route.

One of the most spectacular Greek stages is Elatia Karya, run as SS9 and SS12 on Sunday 8 May, featuring amazing views over Thermopylae. Not only is the landscape incredible, but the 33-kilometre test also contains a wide variety of driving conditions to test the adaptability of the drivers.

"The first 10 kilometres - fast with long corners and a minimum average speed of 120kph - are exceptional," said Nicolas. "The last 20 kilometres are twisty, slow and sometimes with very rough rocks: a bit like the old Cyprus Rally. There's a really big contrast from the start to the end of the stage."

Elatia Karya is also the last stage of the rally, which numbers 231.52 competitive kilometres in total. The Acropolis gets underway with a ceremonial start on Friday 6 May.
