ERC’s Consani hits bad luck on Circuit of Ireland
FIA European Rally Championship frontrunner Robert Consani's bad luck continues on the Circuit of Ireland. After crashing on the qualifying stage yesterday, the Frenchman completed the opening stage with only two-wheel drive on his Citroën DS3 R5.
"I am completely disappointed," commented Consani, who broke a driveshaft during the stage. "First the problem yesterday, and now this. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to make it back to remote service."
The remote service takes place at the famous Bushmills distillery at the very north of Ireland, before the crews head out for the afternoon loop of stages.
Consani is hoping to be among them, after being deprived of third place on the season-opening Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés, again as a result of mechanical problems.
"I feel I've improved as a driver a lot but my luck hasn't improved at all," said the Frenchman.
