ERC organisers attend successful FIA Rally Officials’ Seminar
More than 80 members of the community of international rally officials, including from the FIA European Rally Championship, assembled on Gran Canaria this weekend.
Representing some 30 national federations, the officials plus experts and guest speakers, attended the 10th FIA Rally Officials’ Seminar where the spotlight was on regulation implementation and safety, with a few to implementing further improvements during 2019.
Jean-Baptiste Ley, the ERC Co-ordinator, was among those in attendance along with ERC event organisers, FIA Rally Director Yves Matton, FIA Safety Manager Michèle Mouton, FIA Rally Commission Vice President Uwe Schmidt and FIA Regional Rally Manager Jérôme Roussel.
Commenting on the seminar organised by the FIA, Matton said: “I am delighted to see the high level of professionalism and commitment of the participants this weekend. They represent the top officials from rally with important responsibilities in matters of event regulations and safety. The previous editions have demonstrated that there is much we can do to keep improving in these areas and this seminar has become an essential platform for sharing the latest updates and best practices.”
