ERC Junior graduate Sirmacis set for his R5 debut in Greec

Exciting Latvian youngster Ralfs Sirmacis is poised to make his step up to the top class of the FIA European Rally Championship on next month's SEATJETS Acropolis Rally (6-8 May).

After finishing runner-up in the ERC Junior Championship in 2015, 21-year-old Sirmacis will drive a ŠKODA Fabia R5 on gravel events this season, starting on the Greek classic.

He remains with the Sports Racing Technologies team from Latvia, which will be running two Fabias on the rally for Sirmacis and Estonia's Raul Jeets.

The man who beat Sirmacis to the ERC Junior crown last year, Emil Bergqvist, has also made the move into R5 machinery this year in the World Rally Championship.
