ERC champion Kajetanowicz spreads his wings

Kajetan Kajetanowicz, the only driver in history to win the FIA European Rally Championship three times in succession, will be embarking on an adventure of a different kind 12,000 kilometres from home next week.

The LOTOS Rally Team driver is entered for the world championship events in Argentina and Chile as he builds on his strong start to his second season in the sport’s top tier.

“Honestly I have to admit that I still can’t believe that it is really happening, another sporting dream comes true,” said Polish driver Kajetanowicz, whose Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 is run by Raimund Baumschlager’s BRR outfit.

“We are facing a very difficult challenge and a fight against competitors who already know these roads. Every rally means different routes and corners, weather conditions or road surface, but also intensive preparations and logistics.”

Kajetanowicz won the ERC title in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
