Della Casa’s car swap in the ERC

Federico Della Casa is using a different car on the third round of the FIA European Rally Championship, swapping his usual Citroën DS3 R5 for the Peugeot 208 T16.

Swiss driver Della Casa explained that he is waiting for the new upgrade kit that Citroën is introducing for its R5 challenger, with the hope he will have it in time for the Kenotek Ypres Rally (23-25 June).

The Peugeot he's using on the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally is the same car used by Robert Consani - who works with the same Delta Rally team - on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés, where Luis Monzón was driving his regular DS3.

Thanks to the close relationship between the two brands from the PSA Group, the 208 and DS3 are fundamentally the same car underneath. Della Casa said: "For me they're not so different. The only thing is that the position of the driver is a little different; in the DS3 I like it, in this car I don't."

With mechanical issues on Gran Canaria and a crash in Northern Ireland, Della Casa had a tough start to his ERC campaign in the Citroën, but he's sitting sixth in in the Peugeot in Greece after the opening loop.
