Chuchała sets the ERC2 pace again on the Circuit of Ireland
New FIA European Rally Championship star Wojciech Chuchała has carried on at the Circuit of Ireland where he left off in the Canary Islands by leading the way in the ERC2 class.
The Subaru Poland Rally Team driver is just over two minutes ahead of his Mitsubishi-driving category rival Giacomo Scattolon going into the afternoon's stages. Chuchała and co-driver Daniel Dymurski are 19th overall.
Chuchała said: "On the first loop, we expected rain and decided to use the soft tires, but unfortunately it was completely dry, so it was not an optimal choice. Fortunately almost the entire rally is still ahead of us. The weather has returned already to "normal" - it's raining, and we will be more comfortable with that.
"The longest stage today was exceptionally complicated with a lot of crests, and we have less suspension travel in our Impreza than the R5 cars, so it's good we don't have to do it a second time."
