CarPlan announces third season in partnership with Marussia F1 Team

CarPlan has been tasked with keeping the Marussia F1^TM Team's car looking immaculate for a third season of grand prix racing.

The cutting-edge car care brand has been signed up as the official supplier to Marussia, meaning its products will be responsible for ensuring the MR02 race car is gleaming every time it takes to the track or appears before the sport's global TV audience.

The multi-award-winning brand, which is based on patented Nanomeric technology and includes the range-topping Auto Finish collection of car care, features products to suit every need and is also being used on the team's fleet of transporters, trucks and support vehicles as well as on the racing cars.

Matthew Dickinson, a composites technician at Marussia, said while the Demon Foam range and Tyre Slik products were favourites with the logistics team, those preparing the F1 car rely on everything from Auto Finish's Mirror Gloss Sealant to improve aerodynamics and water repellency in wet conditions, to CarPlan's Brake and Parts Cleaner to remove dust from the pit garage floor.

"At the start of each weekend we give the car a really good application of Auto Finish's Advanced Resin Polish so that it looks pristine when we run for the first time on a Friday morning. The Mirror Gloss Sealant produces a gloss effect which leaves it looking really shiny and also helps maximise the car's aerodynamics," he explained.

"When the car comes into the garage we need to be able to clean it as quickly as possible and then get back out on the track. We use Auto Finish Speed Shine Detailer for this because you need only one squirt, a quick wipe and it's done.

"On a Sunday night, when we're packing up, CarPlan's Rapid Wheel Cleaner is great. The wheels come off, and they are carrying a lot of brake dust and rubber residue, and we need something that works really quickly. This is really strong and leaves you with a wheel that looks as good as new."
