Can history repeat itself for WTCR racer Michelisz?
Norbert Michelisz will be hoping history repeats itself as he begins his preparations for the Asia leg of the WTCR - FIA Wold Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.
Michelisz took his first win of the season at WTCR Race of Slovakia earlier this month, a result that has kick-started his faltering title bid.
In 2017, when he was competing in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, Michelisz fought back into title contention after a slow start to his campaign, missing out on the crown at the season finale in Qatar.
Of his prospects of going one better in 2018, the Hyundai-powered BRC Racing Team driver said: "After the experience of last year, it was after the third or fourth race weekend, I said ‘okay, now the championship is gone'. But everything turned around in two race weekends. I said to myself never give up.
"The first part of this season wasn't like I expected, it was not ideal. But with the experience of last year I think I am more tough in managing difficult things or bad luck or whatever you want to call it. I'm still ready to fight until I have no mathematical possibility to win the championship."
WTCR OSCARO is back on track at the Ningbo International Speedpark in September.
