Bostanci ‘no stranger’ and pushing to win in ERC3 in Greece

Murat Bostanci believes he can use push for the ERC3 win on the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally, where he "won't feel like a stranger" like he did on his series debut.

Bostanci, a double champion in Turkey, made his FIA European Rally Championship bow on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés and was set to finish third in ERC3 before a penalty for using too many tyres on his Ford Fiesta R2T.

"Canarias was a very special rally though a rally that I am not very used to, due to its very good quality tarmac and high level of grip," he said. "But we had a very good rally for learning our new car. We were third with just several seconds behind [Zoltán] Bessenyey and his R3. I think it was not a bad start on a rally that I wasn't very confident with."

With some past experience in Greece and the similarity to Turkish stages, Bostanci says "we can still push for the win" despite competition from points leader Łukasz Pieniążek and Bessenyey and Alex Filip, who both finished on the class podium two years ago.

"Acropolis is a very special rally which we competed on in 2013 as a round of Junior WRC. This time the location and the stages are completely different. I like rough stages, but being rough and slow at the same time is very hard on two-wheel drive cars. I don't know these new stages but luckily the landscape is similar to Turkey, so we won't feel like a stranger, like we were in Canarias."
