Björk positive after hard WTCR Race of Hungary
Thed Björk insists he's not worried after his bid for back-to-back FIA world touring car titles suffered a setback at WTCR Race of Hungary yesterday.
The 2017 WTCC champion had to make do with two ninth-place finishes in his YMR Hyundai i30 N TCR in what proved to be a tough visit to the Hungaroring.
"It can shift really fast, like I've just had a really bad weekend, it can come to them as well as there are still eight races left," said the Swede. "I had bad luck here last year as well, that's why I hoped it would be better this year and I'm not worried yet."
Of his troubled weekend, Björk explained what had gone wrong. "In Race 1 I had an issue with the mapping at the start, and the engine just died, and then I was off set-up-wise completely. The places I lost at the beginning, it meant the race was damage limitation."
"The set-up wasn't the issue in qualifying [on Sunday], I made a mistake, there was a yellow flag, and that was it over. In Race 2 we tried some different things and it was okay, but in the last race we found it, and I got up to [Rob] Huff, and then it was game over. He's good, and he's not easy to overtake."
