A good day for the Gryazins in Moscow
There was plenty to celebrate for the Gryazin family in Moscow recently, when current ERC Junior competitor Nikolay won the Rally Masters Show and older brother Vasily returned behind the wheel following his serious road accident.
Nikolay, 18, won the asphalt event in the Sports Racing Technologies ŠKODA Fabia R5 he took to sixth place on his ERC debut in Valais last October. The car is now in Greece for Ralfs Sirmacis to use on his R5 debut on this week's SEAJETS Acropolis Rally, alongside the sister car of Raul Jeets.
Gryazin won after three-time ERC rally winner Alexey Lukyanuk suffered a mechanical issue on the Subaru Impreza he was sharing with his wife Julia Burykina.
Vasily, 22, had an ERC Junior campaign of his own cut short last year by a serious road traffic accident in Latvia in July. He drove the zero car at the Rally Masters Show in the latest phase of his recovery, with the intention to return to competition later this year.
