This Nissan R90Ck was The Third-Fastest Car At Le Mans 2014 driven by Katsu Kubota and Joaquin Folch, the highest top speed 338.1km/h, or 210.1 mph The top speed obtained by the Nissan R90CK is only 1 km/h lower than that obtained by current Toyota TS040 Hybrid and the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, Mark Blundell reached at 366 km/h (226.9 mph) on his pole position lap - 24.2 mph less than the previous record trap speed The qualifying engine, normally capable of up to 1000 bhp, had a mechanical issues leading to the wastegate being jammed, leading to an engine which produced well over 1100 bhp. Bob Earl took the fastest lap during the race in the NPTI car at 3_40.030 This trap speed record with the chicanes in place still stands to this day. Even with this performance, Nissan would not return to Le Mans with their prototypes following their departure from the World Sportscar Championship at the end of 1990. Developed jointly with the Lola Cars International company, the R90C car was the fruit of global strategic planning. It incorporated significant advances, such as a newly designed monocoque body offering greater rigidity. The R90CK made by NME took part in international endurance championships, such as Le Mans, and also the IMSA series in USA. This machine was entered by the US-based NPTI Team in the 1992 Daytona 24 Hours (GTP class).
