Gulf Racing Porsche 917K Flat-12 Engine SOUND

Another historic car, which was present at the 2012 Concorso d'Eleganza, is the 1970 Porsche 917K. Disappointed by the poor results of the 917 in 1969, Porsche decided to find a solution that could have improved the car for the next 1970 racing season. The answer was to "cut the tail" of the car. So they put in the name of the car the letter "K", in order to underline the distinctive feature of the new 917 ( K stay for "kurzheck" which means "short"). The car was been equipped with a new 4.9 liters flat-12 engine (the previous was 4.5 liters) which permitted the car to reach a power of about 600 - 620 bhp and a top speed of 390 km/h (240 mph).
